The knitters in Norway have a rich history of mitten making that we are going to be able to learn more about this Spring. Join us this April for a special three-session class event at My Sister Knits!
We are very excited to welcome, Jeannie Giberson to My Sister Knits to teach mitten techniques from the book ‘Selbuvotter: Biography of a Knitting Tradition’.
These iconic black and white mittens are a regional treasure that Jeannie will be able to tell us more about. She’ll share a bit of the history behind these designs while allowing us to get hands on practice making a pair of our own.
Jeannie will cover many techniques throughout the three-session class from discussing color dominance and set up in class one, creating the thumb gusset in class two, all the way through top decreases and knitting the thumb in the final session. The final product will be absolutely beautiful and have you addicted to color worked mittens!
Experience knitting in the round, two-color knitting and chart reading is required.
Come join us on Saturday mornings April 9, 16 and 23 from 9-11am. This three session class costs $65 excluding supplies and our limited spaces are sure to fill quickly!
Call the shop at 970-407-1461 to get signed up and to get the details on the materials you’ll need, and a bit of homework that you’ll want to have completed before our first session.
We can’t wait to get started!
